Eika Real Estate Fund Acquires Production Base of Wholesale Engineering Company ViaCon Baltic in Kaunas

UAB Eika Real Estate Fund (EREF), managed by the fund management company UAB Eika Asset Management (EAM), has completed the acquisition of the production base of the engineering wholesaler UAB ViaCon Baltic, located in Kaunas District. ViaCon Baltic leases a territory of almost five hectares, production buildings and administrative premises under a long-term contract. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

EREF has acquired UAB Pilainiai, which owns a 4.8-hectare site in Margava, Kaunas District, as well as more than 4,800 m² of build-to-suit industrial and administrative premises, including the started construction of a plastic pipe manufacturing facility specialising in producing materials for the construction of roads, railways, tunnels and bridges. The production facilities, which will contribute to the development plans of UAB ViaCon Baltic, are scheduled for completion in Q3 2022.

According to EAM CEO Viktorija Orkinė, the new EREF investment is considered to be safe, as the acquired buildings are developed according to ViaCon Baltic's needs, have a long-term lease agreement and are located in an attractive location for production and logistics purposes.

"ViaCon Group is continuing the project of modernising its production base, introducing the latest production technologies and thus further strengthening its position on the European market. Furthermore, the construction of new production buildings will optimise production processes and create a modern working environment for the company's employees. "ViaCon Group's long-term strategy is focused on delivering innovative and sustainable products and solutions to the infrastructure construction market," says Virginijus Jurevičius, CEO of ViaCon Baltic.

ViaCon Baltic's production centre is the sixth EREF investment. EREF's investment portfolio also includes the Highway business centre and Audi and Volkswagen car dealerships in Vilnius, the DHL Lietuva terminal at Vilnius Airport and the Tamro logistics centre in Kaunas LEZ, the manager of BENU pharmacies. EREF is the second EAM-managed real estate fund investing in commercial real estate. EREF invests in classic commercial property - office buildings, shopping centres and logistics or light industrial facilities in the CEE region. The fund is designed for informed investors and invests alongside external investors in the capital of EIKA Group.
